Jennifer L. White has worked in rehabilitation since her first paid position with the [ARC of Bucks County, PA](http://thearcpa.org/what_we_do/). Following a career as a special education teacher, she founded Able Opportunities, Inc., a national consulting and local vocational rehabilitation company. She works with a broad range of people, specializing in vocational, educational, and communication goals and programs for children and adults.

As a researcher at the University of Washington, Jennifer developed accommodation strategies and tools to increase integration for people with more severe disabilities. In Alaska, she designed vocational, residential, and educational programs serving First Nation People and communities. She has also developed non-linguistic communication strategies that promote self-determination and autonomy, providing training on these approaches nationwide.

In 2006, Jennifer created the Work Independence Network (WIN) Program in collaboration with Harrison Medical Center and Kitsap County DD. WIN offers a replicable business model for hiring and retaining employees with developmental disabilities. In 2014, she launched the [Work Autonomy App](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/work-autonomy/id687348090?mt=8), a person-driven accommodation tool.

Jennifer is known for innovative, business-minded strategies and her work within minority populations, where issues of privilege and cultural respect are vital to long-term success. As a Subject Matter Expert for the Office of Disability Employment Policy, she works with state teams, schools, employers, families, counties, providers, and agencies on Employer Engagement, Customized Employment, Innovative Technology Tools, and Collaborative Design to increase paid employment opportunities.
